Since parting company with Sugababes, Siobhan Donaghy has tried earnestly to grasp at the elusive concept known as credibility. Her latest hopes are pinned firmly to this track, and the accompanying album, 'Ghosts'. It is an initially promising single, but one which flatters to deceive, and ultimately fails to satisfy.
A world away from her previous incarnation, Donaghy has restyled herself, and has successfully bridged the gap between kiddie-pop, and the more grown up variety. Sounding like a pepped-up Gemma Hayes, this is a very listenable track which is sure to appeal to pop fans. The only problem with it is that it doesn't really do much. Ambling along between a slow verse to a faster, louder chorus, and back again, it limps to a finish after four minutes, despite the positive signs shown early on.
Overall, a good single, but it could have done so much more. Donaghy has an immense vocal talent, but on songs like this it is sadly wasted.
