Latest offering 'Love Today', like previous single release 'Grace Kelly', is packed with a piano-laden melodic bassline, and drums give chase to produce an addictive foot-stomping rumpus.
Using his usual range of vocal techniques throughout the three and half minutes or so, Mika goes from the levels of tenor to on occasion what seems to be a dramatic soprano, but having been witness to previous releases you wouldn't really expect anything less.
Keeping his lyrics simple, Mika is able to get across to the listener his innermost thoughts and feelings - namely those of love and life - with this track, which is packed with great hooks and soaring and catchy choruses. What's most amazing, though, is how easily he blends styles and emerges with a sound that is all his own.
