Summer is upon us it seems, so strip off the skinny jeans and slip into some Bermuda shorts. Maybe. The first summer sizzler is here, and it's by... Bloc Party?
On first listen to the band's second album 'A Weekend In The City' it was clear that 'I Still Remember' was by far the most commercial tune that Bloc Party had ever written. Doubters may scream 'sell out', and pray for the nervous sounding Bloc Party of old, but this single should propel the band to worldwide success.
More Killers than Gang of Four, 'I Still Remember' sounds like the anthem from a classic 80s teen movie. Glowing with confidence with its melodic guitar riff and sweet lyrics, this should be an indie disco classic just like 'Two More Years'.
If this doesn't give Bloc Party a deserved Number One single what will? (Perhaps a duet with Peter Kaye...)
