Who says cute can't be cool? The Maccabees wear their hearts on their sleeves in style.
Undoubtedly the most instantly lovable single of the year so far, 'About Your Dress' shows singer Orlando Weeks reliving an awkward first date. From puppy love at first sight ("you stood out like a sore thumb/The most beautiful sore thumb I'd ever seen") to the first disaster ("I was almost sick on you"), the song is immediately relatable.
Not ones to be entirely cliched however, The Maccabees deliver a surprisingly catchy, upbeat melody to accompany the bittersweet lyrics. A booming bassline kicks proceedings off, while guitar and drums work together to create the kind of tune that begs you to storm the dancefloor.
'About Your Dress' - a song to dance with your prospective partner to and agonise about afterwards. After all, "It's just what all young lovers do."
