Surprise! The fourth single taken from 'Civilian' and it's a slow one. Obviously it's somewhat of a surprise that there is a fourth single on the record (not withstanding re-releases of both 'Suzie' and Pet Shop Boys-aping 'Civil Sin'), but perhaps Boy Kill Boy have the makings of an excuse when the whole lot's being done in aid of War Child.
Charity aside, it's simply not very good: Chris Peck's wannabe-Morrissey vocals warble over a middling indie backing track, there's the vague semblance that whoever's listening is meant to feel some 'real emotion', and it ends. Without even an attempt to evoke anything whatsoever, a dancefloor beat, or 'epic' indie chorus, 'Shoot Me Down' just feels lost.
