Paramore - Pressure
More on: Paramore

Label: Fueled By Ramen
Release Date: 30/10/06
Rating:

It's almost a pre-requisite that any Fueled By Ramen offering will be teen-angst-filled pop-punk, a guitar-blazing catastrophe performed by a band with bad hair and even worse dance moves. This time, however, it's also really good.

Leading lady Hayley Williams belts out a vocal performance far superior to most of her male counterparts, and with a striking resemblance to Avril Lavigne save for the pop-production values.

Obviously the heavy riffs and the pulsating bassline are present, and they're used brilliantly. The gradual build really does add to the sense of rising pressure "I fear I might break and I fear I can't take it", Williams cries.

"Some things I'll never know", but this is a great track to slam about to, drive to, or just sit and listen to. Perfect for the break-up season, 'Pressure' is sure to be a success.
