Paramore might not be a name you're familiar with now, but rest assured, it'll be mere months before you won't be able to escape from it. They're label and tour mates with the much-hyped Panic! At The Disco, come from Franklin, Tennessee, and are fronted by 17-year-old Hayley Williams. Clickmusic caught up with them to give you a formal introduction...
Who (or what) is Paramore?
It's Hayley (vox), Josh (lead guitar), Jeremy (bass), Hunter (guitar), Zac (drums).
How would you describe your sound to those who haven't had a chance to listen yet?
It's energetic, emotional, and fun.
A few of your labelmates are doing really well over here (Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco). Do you think that's helping your progress?
Of course it's helping! We are really proud of the success that Fueled By Ramen has gained and we wouldn't want to be on any other label.
You've just started touring here in the UK - are there any notable differences between British and American crowds?
Yes, definitely. It took a few tours around the States to really win over the crowds. Our first show here was in London and the crowd treated us like we've been over here a thousand times. Everyone knew the songs and cheered - it made us feel really special.
Are you planning on playing any festivals in the Summer?
The Give It A Name festival is this upcoming weekend, so we're all excited about that. We are playing Bamboozle and this Summer's Warped Tour in the States. Maybe we'll come back here for Reading. That would be insane!
